Chocolate Sheet Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/4 cup crisco oil
• 1/4 cup cocoa
• 1 cup water
• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 teasp salt
• 1 teasp soda
• 1 teasp cinnamon
• 2 lg eggs
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 teasp vanilla
• 1 stick butter
• 3 tblsp cocoa
• 6 tblsp milk
• 4 cups powdered sugar
• 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired

Preparation

Step 1

Pre heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray 9'X 13" baking pan.

Melt first 4 ingredients in small sauce pan.

Combine next 8 ingredients and add melted ingredients from sauce pan with it. Mix well.

Batter will be thin, pour into prepared pan & bake @400 degrees for 25 minutes.

While cake is baking, in a small sauce pan, combine butter, cocoa & milk and bring to a boil.

Add powdered sugar & whisk until smooth, add nuts if desired.

Pour over warm cake as soon as it comes out of oven.
