Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tblsp corn starch
  • 1/4 teasp salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 lg eggs yolks (slightly beaten)
  • 2 tblsp butter
  • 1 teasp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium sauce pan, blend sugar, cornstarch & salt. Add milk.

Cook & whisk over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.

Cook, whisking constantly 2 more minutes.

Remove from heat.

Whisk small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks.

Return mixture with eggs to hot mix in pan, whisking constantly, cook 2 more minutes.

Remove from heat & whisk in butter & vanilla.

Lay a piece of wax paper directly on top of pudding to prevent a hard skin from forming.

Cool in refrigerator at least 1 hour.
