Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 teasp vanilla
- 1 teasp salt
- 1 lg egg
- 1/2 teasp baking soda
- 3 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teasp cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Spray 2 cookie sheets with Pam and set aside.
Cream together shortening and sugars in a large bowl.
Beat in egg, vanilla & water; stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
Bake @350 degrees for 15 minutes.
