Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 2 C all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 2/3 C milk
  • sprinkle cinnamon
  • 6 apples, peeled and grated
  • 6 T granulated sugar
  • sprinkle cinnamon
  • 1 C brown sugar, packed
  • 2 C hot water
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Put flour, baking powder and salt into owl. Cut in butter until crumbly.

Add milk and mix to form into 2 balls. Roll each into a rectangular shape, 7x12-inches.

Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Cover with apple. Sprinkle sugar over apple followd by another sprinkle of cinnamon Starting with the long side, roll like a jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Stand on end (not cut side) in deep casserole.

Sauce: mix brown sugar, water, butter and vanilla together. Pour over slices. Bake in 350 oven for about 40 minutes.
