Whiskey Cookies/Fruit Cake Balls

Ingredients
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 6 tblsp whiskey
- 4 lg eggs
- 1 lb candied pineapple
- 1 lb candied cherries
- 1 lb chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 teasp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teasp soda
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup dates (chopped)
- 1/2 teasp allspice

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening & sugar together with electric mixer.
Add eggs & whiskey, then add flour, soda & nuts.
Coarsely chop pineapple, cherries, raisins & dates; Add to mixture.
Let stand overnight in a covered bowl.
Butter hands & roll into balls (smaller than a walnut).
Place on an Pam sprayed cookie sheet.
Bake @325 degrees for 15 minutes.
Store in an airtight container with an open glass or jar of whiskey in the center.
