  • 8 ounces(2 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature, plus more for buttering the pan
  • 4 bars(3 1/2 oz each) lindt bittersweet chocolate, broken up
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

Step 1

preheat oven to 350. butter a 9 inch round springform pan.

put butter and chocolate in a heat-safe bowl and place it over a pan of hot water, cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture is melted. remove bowl from stove top and set aside.

in another bowl, beat eggs and egg yolks until frothy. at medium speed, beat in sugar until creamy. beat in flour.

fold flour mixture into chocolate mixture with a rubber spatula until blended. spread in buttered pan. bake cake until set in the center, 40-50 minutes. let cool. serves 12.
