Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies

make with either plain cookie dough or add chocolate to the dough- yum, yum!

Ingredients
- 2 cups unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups White Sugar (C&H Ultrafine Baker's)
- 4 cups Flour
- 1 pkg (12oz) Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 teas Salt
- optional- 1/2 cup melted Chocolate Chips

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 275 degrees; coat cookie sheet with cooking spray.
Cream together butter, sugar and salt; stir until creamy in large bowl with wooden spoon. Stir in flour*. Add 1 cup chocolate chips. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4" thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place on cookie sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
*To make Chocolate dough- melt 1/2 cup Chocolate chips in microwave and add after flour is mixed in.
