Ingredients

  • Cream Filling:
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 C. shortening or butter
  • 1 ½ C. blackberry jam
  • 1 C. chopped pecans
  • 1 tea. cinnamon
  • 1 tea. cloves
  • 2 T. cocoa
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 1/4 tea. salt
  • 1 tea. soda
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 2 2/3 C. plain flour
  • ● Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • ● Mix as any other cake and bake in layers.
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 5 T. milk.
  • ● Boil sugar and milk for 1 minute.
  • ● Beat until begins to thicken.
