Ingredients
- Quart jar (Clean and hot)
- 1 Tbl Pickling salt
- 1/2 Tsp pickling spices
- 1 toe of garlic (Cut in Half)
- 1 stalk of dill (including head)
- pinch of alum
- 1 small dried red pepper (optional)

Step 1
Choice of Vegetable or Fruit:
1. Watermelon: slices of the white part of rind approx 1" wide and what length you want for serving.
2. Cucumbers: small pickling cucumbers packed
3. End of Garden: celery, carrots, cauliflower, onions, tomatoes or whatever you have
Pack the jar, have lids hot and ready to put on, pour boiling water rover produce in jar leaving 1/2" minimum space at top of jar.
Set jars in window sill where it gets the must sun and is warm. gently shake jars each morning for 10 days. Store in pantry out of the sun.
