Ingredients
- 3 1/3 C cake flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 C unsalted butter at room temperature
- 2 C sugar
- 1/3 C fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp packed grated lemon peel
- 4 large eggs
- 1 C + T buttermilk
- 2 1/2 C fresh blueberries

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Butter and flour 2, 9" round cake pans with 2" high sides. Lime bottoms with parchment paper. Sift 1st 4 ingredients into medium bowl. Using electric mixer. Beat butter in large bowl until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beating until blended. Beat in lemon juice and peel, then eggs; 1 at a time. Continue to beat until well blended. Beat in dry ingredients in 4 additions alternatley with buttermilk in 3 additions. Gold in berries. Transfer batter to pans
Bake until tester comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Cool in pans on rack.
Spread 1 C frosting betwen layers. Frost and garnish with berries annd lemon if desired.
