Ingredients

  • 20 ounce pkg extra lean ground turkey breast
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/3 cup diced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon Mexican seasoning or fajita seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Mexican blend low fat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Garnish: (Optional)
  • Six whole grain buns or Sandwich Thin
  • 6 Tablespoons salsa
  • 1 1/2 avocados, thinly sliced
  • 6 Tablespoons non-fat plain Greek-style yogurt

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. There will be about 24 ounces or 1 1/2 pounds of mixture. Divide into six 4-ounce patties.

Grill burgers for about 3 minutes on each side or until inside is no longer pink. Serve on whole-grain buns topped with salsa, avocado, Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream).
