  • 1/2 # shelled brazil nuts or 1# brazil nuts
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Step 1

force brazil nuts through chopper or grater. sift flour. baking powder,salt into meats;mix well. beat eggs. add brown sugar gradually, beating it in as it is added. add vanilla; stir in flour and nut meat mixture gradually. when thoroughly mixed, place to chill for one to two hours. pinch into balls. roll into sticks between the palms. place on cookie sheets. bake 350 15-20 minutes. roll in confectionary sugar while still warm. shortening is not needed, nuts are so rich in fat, they supply the shortening.

store for 2-3 weeks to season.
