Ingredients

  • *The following substitute may be used instead of the 3 cups of self rising flour:
  • 3 cups self-rising flour*
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 12 ounces beer
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ________________________
  • 3 scant cups of all purpose flour
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl with a whisk. Mix all ingredients except melted butter together, stirring just until blended.

3. Pour into greased bread loaf pan.

4. Evenly pour melted butter over the top of the bread during the last 10 minutes of baking (see next step for baking times).

5. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes to 1 hour total. Utilizing an extremely accurate oven and a silicone loaf pan will take 40 minutes total.

6. To ensure a more accurate consistency, spoon the flour into the measuring cups and level, and do not over-stir.
