Ingredients
- For the Cake:
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup hazelnut liquor
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 cup semolina flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- For the Syrup:
- 3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- Zest and juice of one orange and one lemon
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cups water

Preparation
Step 1
1.) Preheat oven to 325°. Combine baking soda, liquor, orange juice and olive oil. In a separate bowl, combine the rest of the dry ingredients. Add the dry mix into the wet and put into a 9-inch greased cake pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes until a cake tester comes out clean. Set aside and cool.
2.) Make the syrup. Simmer all ingredients together for 30 minutes, cool to room temperature then pour over cake.
3.) Serve with strained Greek yogurt and honey and/or a sorbet such as beetroot.
