Ingredients
- Directions:
- 4-5 hot yams (30 oz.) drained and mashed
- 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 T. cream Sherry
- 3 T. melted butter, divided
- 1/4 c. fine, dry bread crumbs
- 1 . With a fork, blend the mashed yams, pineapple, chestnuts, sugar, salt, Sherry and 2 T. butter.
- 2 . Turn into a shallow 1 qt baking dish.
- 3 . Stir remaining butter quickly into bread crumbs and spread mixture evenly over the yams.
- 4 . Bake uncovered at 350 F. for 40 minutes or until heated through.
