- Prepare first:
- Butter/Grease well a cookie sheet/Jelly roll pan
- In small bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of vanilla and 2 tablespoons of butter. Set aside.
- In small bowl, combine 2 heaping teaspoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Set Aside.
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup of white Karo syrup
- 1/2 cup water

Step 1
Mix and stir over high heat until grains of sugar are dissolved. Then cook until it spins a good thread (hold spoon up, liquid will form a thin thread).
Add 1 pound or 2 cups of Raw unsalted Spanish peanuts. Keep cooking and stirring constantly until it is a light honey color.
Add the vanilla and butter. Stir until butter dissolves. Then remove from heat and stir in quickly the baking soda and salt. Stir fast until it foams. STOP! Pour onto greased cookie sheet with rim. DO NOT scrape pan! DO NOT spread on cookie sheet, just tip pan from side to side to spread out as much as it will. Cool. Break into pieces.
