Ingredients

  • 3 medium, ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 medium garlic clove, minced or pressed through a garlic press
  • 1 small jalapeno chile, stemmed, seeded, and minced
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro leaves
  • Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons juice from one lime.

Preparation

Step 1

Halve one of the avocados, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl. Mash lightly with the onion, garlic, chile, cilantro, ¼ teaspoon of salt and cumin with the tines of a fork, until just combined.
Halve, pit, and cube the remaining two avocados. Add cubes to mashed mixture.
Sprinkle lime juice over the mix. Mix entire until completely combined but still chunky.
Can be covered with plastic wrap, pressed onto the mixture. Can be kept up to one day.
*Add six slices of bacon with one teaspoon rendered fat and ½ medium tomato for a different flavor.
