Wonderful Crusty Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, room temperature
- 1 cup Crisco
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs, room temperature
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup whole milk
- I added a cup of chopped pecans. This is entirely optional.

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine butter, Crisco and sugar. Mix until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients 3 times. Add to mixture alternately with milk beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Fold in nuts (optional). Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake on the lower rack of the oven for 1 1/2 hours. Let cool. Turn out. Top is so crunchy
