Kay's Pecan Pie

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 dark karo syrup
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1 pie crust
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. whole or half pecans

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter, sugar and syrup together. Beat eggs, vanilla and salt and temper with 1/4 c. syrup mixture. Add remaining eggs to syrup mixture and combine well.
Place 1 cup chopped pecans on unbaked pie crust. Pour syrup on top of the pecans. Decoratively arrange 1 cup whole pecans on top of pie. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. I place foil over top of pie at 30 minutes to prevent crust from burning.
