Ingredients

  • 2 lbs 90% lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tblsp. Goya adobo seasoning
  • 1 envelope Goya Ham seasoning
  • 1 envelope Goya Sazon with culantro and achoite
  • 2 garlic minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons or 3 cubes sofrito
  • 1/4 cup sliced green olives with pimentos
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • Fresh cilantro

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan saute ground beef until crumbled. Sprinkle in abobo-keep stirring on medium high until browned and crumbled. Mix in ham seasoning. Stir into ground beef mixture. Add sofrito and stir to combine. Add garlic and stir well. Add sazon and stir in completely. Add olives and stir. Add oregano and cumin and stir well. Stir in tomato sauce and cilantro. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes.

At this point this can be used for empanadas or stuffed potato balls (Rellenos De Papa) or Pastelon.

To serve with white rice:
Add enough water to cover meat mixture to make a nice sauce without it being too watered down. Bring to a boil on simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with white rice.
