Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground pepper
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 2-4 inch strips
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dark sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted*
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • To toast seeds, place in dry skillet and toast over med-high heat, shaking the pan for a minute or so - until fragrant and browned. I like to do this step first so I can cook the chicken in the same skillet to pick up extra flavor

Step 1

1. In shallow dish, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture and shake off any excess.

2. Coat a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and warm over med-high heat. Add the chicken in batches and cook, flipping occasionally, for 3-4 minutes until chicken is white and no longer pink. Transfer to a plate.

3. Reduce heat to medium. Combine the soy sauce and sugar in the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the oil and seeds. Add the chicken and chives. Toss and serve immediately.
