Decorative Icing Petals

• Shop Dollar Tree, Here's What You'll Need:
• 3 Boxes of Cake Mix (and ingredients to make them into three 8" rounds)
• 4 Cans of Vanilla Frosting
• Food Coloring
• Quart-Size Zipper-Seal Bags, 1 for Each Color Used
• Rubber Bands, 1 for Each Bag
• Spoon

Bake your cake according to package directions — we did three layers in

Spread on a thin layer of white frosting. It doesn't matter if crumbs get mixed into the icing, you're just “sealing” the cake. Freeze for at least 2 hours.

Separate frosting into zipper-seal bags, 1 for each color you are using. Use food coloring to create your desired shades and knead the bag to mix the colors in well. Squeeze all the air out of the bags and push all of the frosting toward a bottom corner. Seal the bag and twist a couple times to keep the frosting in the lower part of the bag. Secure with a rubber band. Chill the bags in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Place another vertical line of dollops close to the last (and on top of the "smeared" section) and smash again with the back of your spoon.
