  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/4 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup very warm water

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a bowl, mix 1/2 of the cup of flour, the sugar, salt and yeast.

2. Add the butter. Break it up a bit.

3. Gradually add warm water and beat mixture with a spoon.

4. Gradually add the rest of the flour - beating mixture and scraping the bowl.

5. Add more flour if mixture appears too loose or sticky. (dough should be firm)

6. Knead dough until smooth and elastic - about 10 minutes.
