  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food color

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter, sugar, egg and flavorings. Mix in dry ingredients. Divide dough in half. Add 1/2 tsp red food coloring to half of dough. Roll 1tsp wite dough into strip and 1 tsp red dough into strip and place side by side and roll together to make candy cane. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in preheated 350 oven 9-10 min. Dip top in sugar while still warm
