Parmesan Herb Bread

Wedges of this delicious, cheese-topped bread go great with spaghetti and other Italian dishes. This loaf also tastes special when dressed up with one of the accompanying spreads.

Ingredients
- Herb Butter:
- 1 ½ cups biscuit/baking mix
- 1 egg, beaten
- ¼ cup apple juice
- ¼ milk
- 1 Tbls. dried minced onion
- 1 Tbls. sugar
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 Tbls. minced fresh parsley or 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Tomato Butter:
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 4 tsp tomato paste
- Dash cayenne pepper

Preparation
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the first seven ingredients just until blended. Spoon into a greased 9-in. round cake pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 400° for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
In separate small mixing bowls, combine the herb butter and tomato butter ingredients; beat until smooth. Serve the butter with warm bread.
