christmas cookie recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 3 3/4 cup all purpose flour
• 1/4 cup heavy cream
• 2 tsp baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer until pale and fluffy. beat in eggs and vanilla until blended. With mixer on low, gradually beat in flour, baking powder and cream until well blended.

Press dough together then divide in half.

Chill each half for 3 hours or until firm enough to roll.

heat oven to 350 f. Grease cookie sheets.

Roll 1 piece of dough(at a time) on lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with floured cookie cutters.

You can sprinkle them with colored sugar before baking.

Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake 14 minutes or until bottoms and edges are brown.
