Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (and/or sausage)
  • 1/2 Cup chopped onion
  • 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 16 oz can tomato paste
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 pound lasagne noodles
  • 12 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 pint ricotta (or cottage) cheese
  • 1/2 Cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

1. Brown meat
2. Add onions, cook until tender
3. Drain fat and stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, garlic and spices
4. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes
5. In a 12x8 inch baking dish, layer sauce, cooked noodles, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan; repeat starting with noodles
6. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes
