Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 lb. bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 8 slices wheat bread, cubed
  • 2 small jars mushrooms, pieces & stems
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 jar Old English cheese spread
  • 10 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Cube bread and layer in 9x13 greased glass dish. Layer sausage, bacon, mushrooms and shredded cheese in order. Mix sour cream and Old English in separate bowl—it will be lumpy. Dot mixture over layers. Mix eggs, milk, mustard, Worcestershire, salt & pepper and pour over top. Refrigerate overnight.
Bake @ 350 for 60-75 minutes until firm and cooked through in the middle when you insert a toothpick. Let stand a few minutes after taking it out of the oven so that it can be easily sliced.

Serves: 8-10
