Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of dark brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbs. shortening (Crisco solid)
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of buttermilk or sour milk
- 1/2 cup of nut meats
- pinch of salt

Mix all ingredients and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees in greased pan.
