Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 8 apples or more - enough to fill cookie sheet
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 cups of flour
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 Tbls Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Mix and let sit - will juice up (Apples, Cinnamon and salt)
CRUST:
Flour, Shortening, sugar and salt - mix to crumble with pastry whisk.
add 2 eggs yokes plus enough milk t make 2/3 of a cup.
Mix all together and divide by 1/2.
Roll half out with rolling pin on the bottom of a 11x17 ungreased cookie sheet.
1 cup of kinda crumbled cornflakes on bottom dough.
pour apples and juice mixture over cornflakes and cover with rest of the dough crust.
Fork edges like a pie and slit eh sheet of dough for ventilation.
Beat 2 egg whites slightly and spread over top to make a nice brown glaze.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350.
While hot - drizzle milk and powder sugar mixture over top of bars.
