Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Preparation
Step 1
IN a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder & salt.
Beat together egg, milk and butter.
Add, all at once, to dry ingredients.
Blend thoroughly but do not overbeat.
Spoon batter into buttered 8-inch square baking pan, spreading evenly.
Bake at 425 F for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned and firm to the touch.
