Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp. salt or Tony Chachere’s
- 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
- 1 envelope brown gravy mix
- Canola oil
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium sweet onion, halved & thinly sliced
Preparation
Step 1
In a medium bowl, combine bread crumbs, meat, egg, garlic, salt, & pepper. Shape into 4 patties, about 4 inches wide. In a small bowl, whisk together brown gravy mix & 1 cup water. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil & cook patties 2 minutes on each side. Remove & add mushrooms & onions, sautéing 6 minutes or until tender. Stir in gravy & bring to a boil. Add patties, spooning gravy over each patty. Cover, reduce heat to low, & simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
