CABBAGE WITH BACON

Ingredients

  • 2 T oil
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 4 oz bacon finely chopped
  • 1 1/4 lb cabbage shredded
  • salt
  • blk pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in large sauce pan and cook onion & bacon about 7 minutes stirring occassionally. Add cabbage & season. Stir for few minutes over moderately high heat til cabbage begins to shrink in volume. Continue to cook stirring frequently 8-10 minutes til tender but still crisp. Serve immediately. All also make with collards. Additions if you like of mushrooms or seeded chopped skinned tomatoes.
