Ingredients
- 8 medium baking apples cored and peeled
- 1 c sugar
- 6 T butter
- 1 T cornstarch
- 1 T cold water
- 1/2 t vanilla extract
- 1/2 c milk
Preparation
Step 1
Put apples into a 1-1/2qt baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered at 450 for 20 minutes or until fork tender, basting occasionally. Remove baking dish from oven and apples from dish. Combine cornstarch, water, and vanilla extract; add to milk. Stir into baking dish. Return apples to baking dish. Bake an additional 8-10 minutes or until sauce has thickened. To serve, spoon sauce over apples.
