Ingredients
- 1 bag of Old Dutch Puff corn curls
- 1/2 pound butter (not margarine)
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1/2 c light corn syrup
- 1 tsp baking soda
Preparation
Step 1
to make 'caramel' sauce:
in 2 qt saucepan, cook butter, brown sugar and corn syrup together for 2 minutes. Add 1 tsp baking soda to mixture. This will cause mixture to foam (that is why 2 qt saucepan is necessary).
Pour caramel mixture over corn puffs and stir until mixed thoroughly. Place in 260 degree oven for 45 minutes. Stir at least every 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and pour on waxed paper and break apart.
