By tixrus-2
An alternate use of apples when you have them by the tree load. It preserves them and they take up very little space.

Ingredients
- firm worm-free apples
- vitamin C tablets or vinegar
- water
Preparation
Step 1
With an AppleMaster, or by hand if you don't have one, core, peel, and slice the apples into rings. Dip the slices into a solution of water with 3 Tbsp vinegar or 2 vitamin C tablets to prevent them getting mushy while drying.
In a warm oven (lowest setting, then turned off) outdoors in full sun protected by a screen, or in a food dehydrator, dry the apples.
The food dehydrator will take 3-4 hours. Apples are dry enough when dry to the touch but still flexible.
