Cheese and Raisin Danish on Swirl Bread Panini

I enjoyed these the most once they were at room temp. I do not care for warm cheese on much of anything.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces of cream cheese
  • 3 tsps. sugar (recipe calls for 1 1/2 but I think it needs more)
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tbs. raisins or dried cherries
  • 4 tsp. softend butter
  • 4 slices cinnamon swirl bread
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the Panini press.
Place cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in a small bowl and stir to combine. Add raisins and blend well.
Butter the bread slices on 1 side with butter and place them buttered sided down. Spread 2 slices with sweetened cream cheese/ raisin mixture. Top with remaining bread, buttered side up and press together lightly.
Place each on heated panini grill. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes on a rack before cutting ( do not serve to soon). Cut and sprinkle with poweded sugar if desired before serving.
I also enjoyed these with some jelly on top.
