Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon corn oil
- 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 20 cubes)
- 1 small pineapple, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 20 cubes)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic and corn oil in a large bowl and mix well.
2. Add the beef and pineapple to the soy sauce mixture and mix well; cover. Chill, stirring two times, for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the grill to medium.
4. Drain the beef and pineapple, reserving marinade. Thread the beef and pineapple alternately onto wooden skewers.
5. Grill the kebabs 4 inches from the heat, turning them frequently and basting with reserved marinade, until beef is browned, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Tip: Fresh gingerroot is a delicious addition to this marinade. Use 1/2 teaspoon of grated fresh gingerroot in the soy sauce mixture.
