Ingredients
- 2 - 3 flank steaks (marinating steaks)
- 20 bamboo skewers
- Marinade
- 2 cloves of garlic (mashed)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 lime juice
- 4 tbsp sunflower oil
- Peanut Sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- set aside for 5 minutes to make buttermilk
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 6 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp turmenic
Preparation
Step 1
Soak Bamboo skewers in warm water for at least 10 minutes. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl big enough to hold meat and set aside.
Slice the flank steak diagonally across the grain into ¼ inch slices. Place meat in the marinade and refrigerate for 1 – 4 hrs.
Preheat BBQ to medium – high. The skewers will not take long to bbq so keep your eye on them. Turn them over after 3 – 4 minutes.
Peanut Sauce
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and boil over medium-hihg heat stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer for 4 minutes.
Serve skewers with the peanut sauce passed in a small bowl.
*Serve with Rice and Salad/or green beans
