Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 rolls frozen pork sausage meat
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 medium onion chopped fine
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh sage
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp crushed hot red peppers
  • 1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg beaten

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, combine sausage meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, sage, thyme, black pepper, allspice nd hot red pepper; mix with your hands until ingredients are well mixed. Divide into 4 equal portions. On lightly floured board, roll each portion into 12 inch long roll.

On lightly floured board, roll pastry into 4 rectangles, each 12 x 4 inches. On each pastry rectangle, place 1 sausage cylinder near one long edge; grush the other with egg. Roll up, pinch edge. With roll seam side down on board, cut into 1 inch mini rolls. Brush with egg.

Place seam side down on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for about 12 minutes.
