Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) package chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter, divided
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups rice cereal
  • Plastic spider

Preparation

Step 1

Heat chocolate chips and 3/4 cup peanut butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth; remove from heat.

Add powdered sugar; stir vigorously until smooth.

Place cereal in a large bowl. Add 1 cup melted chocolate mixture. Stir until all cereal is coated.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Using a small metal spatula, shape into a 10 inch circle with a slightly raised 1 inch wide boarder.

Pour the remaining melted chocolate mixture in the center of the circle; spread to border.

For spider-web design, place the remaining peanut butter in a plastic bag. Cut a tiny corner from bag; squeeze to pipe concentric circles on top of chocolate.

Using a wooden pick, pull tip through peanut butter from center to border.

Chill for 30 minutes until firm.

Top with plastic spider. Cut into wedges to serve.
