Ingredients
- 4 each 6 ounces Halibut Filets
- 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
- 3 cups Chopped Macadamia Nuts (in food processor)
- 2 cups Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1 TBLS Kosher Salt, and white or black Pepper
- Oil and Butter for Frying
Preparation
Step 1
BATTER FISH
Place Halibut in small bowl with buttermilk to coat entire surface of filet.
Larger bowl, combine the processed nuts and bread crumbs, salt, pepper.
Take one filet at a time from buttermilk (drain off excess), dip into nut/crumbs, coating on all sides. Set aside until all filets are coated.
Fry breaded filets in pan or griddle, over medium-low heat melt 2 oz. of oil and 2 Tbls Butter, place filet in pan for approx. 3 -4 minutes on each side until cooked.
Save extra breading in freezer for next time; mark it for 'fish only'. Freezing prevents from spoiling.
