Orange Drizzle Cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1-1/2 cups raisins
  • Citrus Glaze:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
3. Combine butter, sugar and eggs; beat until light and fluffy.
4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
5. Stir into butter mixture alternately with sour cream.
6. Stir in orange peel and raisins.
7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
8. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
9. Cool 10 minutes.
10. Remove from pan and place on wire rack.

Glaze
11. Combine glaze ingredients; blend well.
12. Brush hot cake with glaze; cool.
