Cherry Trifle Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 ( 16 oz.) frozen pound cake, thawed and sliced
  • 1 can ( 21 oz.) cherry pie filling
  • 1 ( 6 oz.) pkg. cherry jello
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 ( 3.4 oz.) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 ( 8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 ( 8 oz.) cool whip

Preparation

Step 1

Mix cherry jello in 2 cups boiling water and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature and then add the pie filling. Chill in refrigerator until almost set. Mix together cream cheese and a few tablespoons milk and beat until smooth. Add remainder of milk and then add vanilla pudding. Beat on low speed about 2 minutes. Layer: In a 3 quart trifle dish or bowl, sliced pound cake, cherry jello mixture and then vanilla pudding. Repeat. Top with cool whip, then refrigerate.
