CRANBERRY PIE

Ingredients

  • For the cake batter:
  • Grease pie plate, 9" or 10"
  • Add 2 cups whole fresh cranberries in pie plate.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on berries.
  • Cream 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup Crisco (stick)
  • Cream both well.
  • Add 1 cup of sugar and beat until fluffy.
  • Add 2 eggs. Beat again.
  • Sift 1 cup of pastry flour (King Arthur's is fine).
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Add this to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add one teaspoon of vanilla. Put this mixture evenly on top of the cranberries (that has the sugar on them).

Preparation

Step 1

Bake at 325 degree oven. Serve hot with whipped cream. Bake for one hour.
