Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lb ground turkey or chicken
- 1/2 c bread crumbs
- 4 green onions, minced, white and light green parts only
- 2 tbsp fresh or 1 tbsp dried basil, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp chile powder
- 1/4 tsp each salt, pepper
Preparation
Step 1
1. mix non-crumb, non-meat ingredients together and let stand so that flavours can get all involved in the bread crumbs.
2. add meat and combine
3. wet hands and make 8 equal-sized balls
4. press into patties 3/4" thick
5. cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to grill
6. grill over direct medium heat, book says 5-7 minutes but probably more like 10, turning once. Or sear 2' on each side on direct high, then finish on indirect medium for a total of 10'.
