Mashed Potato Cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Creamy Mashed Potatoes, (763), thawed
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Divide potatoes to make 8 portions and form into patties.

2. Mix together flour, garlic, salt and pepper and dredge/coat uncooked potato patties with flour mixture.

3. Heat oil and butter in large skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties 10-12 minutes or until a golden brown on each side.

4. Turn patties half way through cooking time.

Tip: Use SCHWAN’S® Garlic Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes (772) for additional garlic flavor. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream, bacon bits and chives.
