Ingredients
- 4 C diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
- 1 C chopped celery
- 1/2 C chopped onion
- 2 T sugar
- 1/2 C butter
- 1/2 C flour
- 2 C chicken broth
- 2 C half and half (or homog. Milk)
Preparation
Step 1
Cook tomatoes, celery, onion and sugar for 30 minutes. In separate saucepan prepare white sauce: melt butter, add flour, and stir with whisk until no lumps. Add chicken broth and half and half. Bring to boil---stirring constantly. Combine white sauce mixture and vegetable mixture together. Process in blender or with hand-held blender.
