BAKED ZITI

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • salt
  • 3 1/2 cups quick tomato sauce
  • 1 lb fresh mozzarella, half cut into 1/2 inch cubes and half thinkoly sliced
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • pinch red pepper flakes

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 400.
Bring water to boil and salt generously. Boil pasta until done. Drain.
Toss the cooked pasta with sauce, cubed mozzarella, half the Parmesan, black pepper and pepper flakes. Transfer the pasta to an oiled 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Cover the top of the pasta with the sliced mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake until lightly browned and hot or about 30 minutes.
