Round Steak, Potatoes & Gravy

An instant pot makes quick work of this meal featuring round steak with potatoes and gravy. Perfect for a weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds round steak
  • 1 large can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 5 to 6 large potatoes
  • Carrots, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Little tapioca

Preparation

Step 1

Cut meat into bite size pieces.

Pour olive oil in IP, turn to sauté and sear meat on all sides lightly. Salt and pepper to taste.

Add water, cream of chicken soup and onion soup mix.

Dice up potatoes and add to the pot. Add chopped carrots Gently mix into the cream of chicken without mixing too much into the water (we made sure there was still water around the outer edge so it would come to pressure).

Close and lock lid, turn to "sealing" and hit manual for 8 minutes. Once timer goes off, let natural pressure release for 21 minutes - then quick release. Once pin drops and all pressure has released, open the lid and give it a stir. Can add a little tapioca if needs thickening.
